Edit

Displays the Roles Information page, where you can edit the information.

View

Displays the Roles Information page, where you can view but not edit the information.

Role name and Description

When you create a role, you assign it a name and enter a description in the Role Information page. The system creates roles for all the existing users when you enabled the role-based permission feature. In the case of a system-generated role, the system supplies the name and description. These are denoted by the symbol "::SYS::". You may edit these roles as you would edit any role you have created.

Role for User On

Displays the type of company in which the role will be used. You can only select this role setting in a console. Options are:

• Enterprise: single entity company with unique chart of accounts. Lets you set permissions for GL, AR, AP, and so on for use in an enterprise company.
• Accountant console: Accountant or Partner console. Lets you set permissions for My Practice, My instances, and so on for use in a console.
• Multi-entity distributed: separate companies with different charts of accounts accessed from a Management console. Lets you set permissions for Console Setup, My instances, and so on for use in a Management console.
• Multi-entity shared: multiple units or locations with the same chart of accounts. Lets you set permissions for GL, AR, AP, and so on for use in a multi-entity shared company.

Try role

Toggle between your own role as admin and any role in your company.

Subscriptions

Displays the Subscriptions page where you can grant permissions for roles to various applications and to specific functions within those applications.

Role Assignment

Displays the names of users and user groups to whom this role is currently assigned.

Delete

Removes the role only if has not been assigned to anyone.

Add

Displays the Roles information page, where you can add a new role.
