Field descriptions: Rule sets
The following is a description of the fields on the rule set page.
Rule set tab
Details

ID |
Enter an ID for the rule set. After you save, this field cannot be edited. |

Name |
Enter a name for the rule set. |
|
Description |
Enter a description for the rule set. |
|
Status |
The status of the rule set. Active: The rule set active. Inactive: The rule set is inactive. It will not work to match incoming transactions. |

Type |
A rule set can be for either a bank account (cheque accounts or savings accounts) or a credit card account. |

Drill down to see how well your rule set and contained rules are performing. |
Rules

Rule ID |
The ID of the rule included in the rule set. |
|
Rule name |
The name of the rule included in the rule set. |
|
Status |
Select Active or Inactive. The default value is Active. Inactive rules are not used for matching transactions. |

Description |
If you entered a description for the rule, it will appear in this field. |
|
New rule |
Create a matching rule or a creation rule to add to the rule set. |
|
Select rules |
Select an existing rule to add to the rule set. You can add up to 9999 rules. |
|
Remove |
Remove a rule from the rule set. This action doesn't delete the rule. It just excludes it from the rule set. |
Accounts tab
Associated accounts

Account type |
The account type as specified on the Details tab. A rule set can be used for either a bank account (cheque accounts or savings accounts) or a credit card account, but not both. |
Accounts

Account ID |
The account ID. |
|
Account name |
The name of the account. |
|
Status |
The status of the account associated with the rule set. Active: The account is active and is using the rule set for reconciling. Inactive: The account is inactive and not in use. |

Select accounts |
Apply the rule set to selected accounts. Depending on the Account type selected on the Rule set tab, credit card accounts or bank accounts appear for selection. Only accounts without a rule set appear. You can select as many accounts as necessary. |

Remove |
Remove an account from the list. This action means that the account will not use this rule set to match incoming transactions. Keep in mind that accounts require a rule set to reconcile with an import or bank feed. |
