Inactivate an ownership structure
Inactivating an ownership structure can be useful when you no longer need to run consolidations for the ownership structure, but want to keep records of historical consolidations.
An inactive ownership structure enables you to keep an ownership structure even if you are not running any active consolidations on it.

What happens when you inactivate an ownership structure
When you inactivate an ownership structure, Intacct does the following:
- Inactivates and hides the books related to that ownership structure.
- Prevents inactive books from being consolidated through the API.
Inactive ownership structure books are hidden from the following pages:
- Ownership structures page
- Books page
- Consolidate ownership structure page
If you activate a book that was previously inactive, that book will be available for processing from where it left off in the prior consolidation.
