Edit or view a task category for Close Workspace

Use task categories to organize your close-related tasks.

Copilot includes several standard task categories. Some categories are based on an Intacct application, such as Accounts Payable and Cash Management. Other categories are more narrow in scope, such as Deferred revenue, Intangible assets, and Investments.

To view a list of existing task categories, go to Close WorkspaceSetupTemplates for Close WorkspaceTask categories.

You can add additional custom categories as needed.

Task categories are used for reporting. The fewer categories that you have, the more likely it is that reporting tools will deliver actionable insights. Create new categories only if you really need them.
You can only view the standard categories, but you can add and edit custom ones.
  1. Go to Close WorkspaceSetup > Templates for Close Workspace > Task categories.
  2. Find the category in the list.
  3. Select Edit or View.
  4. If you're editing the category, make changes as needed.
  5. Select Save.

Field descriptions

The following fields appear on the Task Categories list and Task Category page.

Include inactive When selected, inactive categories appear in the list.
Task category ID Sage Intacct generates this ID when the task category is created.
Task category name Name to identify the category.
Description Description to provide more detail about the category.
System-generated

A checkmark indicates that the task category is one of the standard categories included with Copilot.

You can view these categories but not edit them.
