Export a report to Excel

You can export a report to an Excel© file to make it easy to distribute and add the results to other spreadsheets.

To export a report to an Excel file, you don't need to run the report first. When you choose the Excel option for the report, the report runs automatically.

View report results before exporting

You can view report results before exporting the file in a few simple steps.

  1. Find the report in the Reports center or on an application menu.
  2. Choose to Run the report.
  3. Select View to see the results before exporting.

Export a financial report to Excel

When financial reports are exported to Excel, the column filter from the column tab is not included. Instead, the Excel export lists the filter selection values from the Filter tab only.

When you filter for Locations and select Run as individual reports, each location will be on a separate page in an Excel workbook.
  1. Go to Reports center > All > Financial reports.

    You can also access the report from the appropriate application, if it was added to the application menu.

  2. Locate the report and select Excel at the end of the row.
  3. Enter any prompted information.
  4. Select the Click here for download link to download the file to your local machine.
  5. Provide information for where you want to save the file and enter a unique file name.
  6. Select OK.

Preview a financial report in Excel

  1. Open the report for editing.
  2. On the Financial Report Writer, select Preview at the top of the page, then select Excel.
  3. Provide the information for where you want to save to and enter a unique file name.
  4. Select OK.

Export a standard report to Excel

  1. Go to Reports center > All > Reports.
    You can also access the report from the appropriate application, if it was added to the application menu.
  2. Find the report and select Excel.
  3. Enter any prompted information and select OK.
  4. Select the Click here for download link to download the file to your local machine.
  5. Provide the information for where you want to save to and enter a unique file name.
  6. Select OK.

Export a custom report to Excel

You can export custom reports to Excel.

Changes to Microsoft security can cause issues when exporting to Excel. See Can't export a report to Excel for details.
  1. Open Reports Center and select All > Reports > Custom reports.

    You can also access the report from the appropriate application, if it was added to the application menu.

  2. Locate the report and select Run.
  3. Go to the Select Report Type dropdown and choose Excel as the format.
  4. Select OK.
  5. Select Download the file link to download the file to your local machine.
  6. Provide the information for where you want to save to and enter a unique file name.
  7. Select OK.
