Add an ownership structure
Define an ownership structure that represents the business structure of the entities you want to consolidate. For example, your ownership structure can include two parent entities with three subsidiary entities per parent. You can specify the percentage by which each subsidiary entity is owned and the consolidation method you want to use for the period.
Sage Intacct activates ownership structures upon creation. You can later deactivate an ownership structure if you no longer need it.
First, name your ownership structure and enable inter-entity auto-elimination. If you enabled the affiliate entity standard dimension in your Intacct company, you can choose to eliminate by affiliate entity. Next, you’ll add period information to your ownership structure.
A best practice is to work at the top level with inter-entity transactions and inter-entity auto-elimination enabled.

Before you begin:
Refer to Reclassify data with the affiliate entity dimension and consolidate for more information about reclassifying inter-entity activity.
- Go to Consolidation > Setup > Ownership structures.
- Select Add to add a new ownership structure.
- Enter a meaningful name and description for the ownership structure.
- Activate the ownership structure by selecting the Active status.
- Select Enable inter-entity auto-elimination.
- If you’ve enabled the affiliate entity standard dimension, optionally select Eliminate by affiliate entity.
- Select Save to save and close the ownership structure.
Alternatively, select Save and continue to save the ownership structure and proceed to the next step of ownership structure creation.
- Go to Consolidation > Setup > Ownership structures.
- Select +Create to add a new ownership structure.
- Enter a meaningful name and description for the ownership structure.
- Activate the ownership structure by selecting the Active status.
- Select Enable inter-entity auto-elimination.
- If you’ve enabled the affiliate entity standard dimension, optionally select Eliminate by affiliate entity.
- Select Save to save and close the ownership structure.
Alternatively, select Save and continue to save the ownership structure and proceed to the next step of ownership structure creation.
