Make a dimension for reporting use only
When you set a dimension view status to Active non-posting, it prevents it being used with a standard transaction entry. The dimension view is still selectable for reporting, however.
Applying an Active non-posting status to a dimension removes it from the transaction selection and prevents transactions from being posted to the dimension.

Make a dimension view reporting-only
If a dimension view already has transactions, you can still change it to a reporting-only status. Your existing transactions will remain there. However, no further transactions can be posted to that dimension.
- Go to your User-defined dimensions application > All.
- Under Components, select the dimension name.
- Select the checkbox next to the dimension view with the status that you want to change.
- In the top menu bar, select Edit view.
- In the View name section next to View is, select Public (for use in reports).
- Optionally, edit the columns included in the view, sort and group fields, and filters as desired.
- Save the dimension view.
Nest report-only dimension views
You can nest report-only dimension views for efficiency and ease of use. For example, you could create a Location view named Region with report-only sub-views for East, South, and West. The report-only sub-views contain the dimension views for each region.
