Reporting Period Information page field descriptions
Field Description

Name

The name of your reporting period. Example: "Quarter Ending Sep 30".

Column header

The first line to be shown on the report. Example: "Quarter Ended".

Column header 2

An optional second line to be shown on the report. Example: "September 30, <current year>".

Start date

The beginning date of the reporting period.

End date

The ending date of the reporting period. Reporting periods can be of any length.

Use for budgeting

Select this checkbox to allow this reporting period to be displayed in the list of available reporting periods on the budgets page for inclusion in a budget.

The dates of periods selected for budgets can’t overlap. For example, suppose you have two reporting periods: one includes January 1 to January 31, and another includes January 15 to February 15. If you select the first to be used for budgeting, you can't select the second.

Status

The default status is Active. However, if you are no longer using the reporting period and don't want it to appear on lists, choose Inactive. This keeps the information in your system, and suppresses it from lists without deleting it. If you wish to see the inactive periods later, select the Include inactive checkbox in the list.
