View and edit a customer advance

You can view and edit specific advances from the Advances list. The Advances list shows all customer advances and the amount left to apply for each.

View an advance

Posted advances include all check payments, and any off-line transactions that are fully approved (credit card, electronic funds transfer, cash, or online credit card).

In a top level company, you initially see only items that were created at the top level. To see items created within entities, select the Include private checkbox.

  1. Go to Accounts ReceivableAll > Payments > Advances.

  2. Find the advance that you want to view in detail.
  3. Select More actionsView at the end of the row.

  2. Select View next to the advance you want to view.

Edit an advance

You can only edit advances that have not been applied to an invoice. If an advance was applied to an invoice and later unapplied, it's unavailable to edit. The General Ledger account book must also be open.

  1. Go to Accounts ReceivableAll > Payments > Advances.

  2. Find the advance that you want to edit.
  3. Select Edit at the end of the row.

  4. Make your changes.

  5. Select Save.
