Import exchange rate template

If you have large numbers of exchange rates to add, using Import could be more efficient than manually entering them one at a time. Import lets you add all the exchange rates at once from a template.

The Import exchange rate template is used to import multiple exchange rates into Sage Intacct.

Download a template

The Import exchange rate template is located on the Company setup checklist.

  1. Open the Company setup checklist by going to Company > Setup > Import data.
  2. In the Set up company master list, locate Exchange rates and select Template.
  3. Save the Exchange rates.xls file to your local or shared computer, or open it for editing.

Complete the template

Enter the information for an exchange rate. Use a separate line in the template for each exchange rate to import. All fields are required. See the field descriptions for information about each field.

Field descriptions

Field Description Required

EXCHANGE_RATE_TYPE

Enter the exchange rate type for the rate. By default, imported rates take the Custom exchange rate type. See Exchange rate types for more about rate types. Yes

FROM_CURRENCY

Enter the 3-character currency code to indicate the currency you are including the rate from. Yes

TO_CURRENCY

Enter the 3-character currency code to indicate the currency you are exchanging to. Yes

LINE_NO

Enter a line number for each exchange rate you adding, in sequential order. Line numbers must start with 1 (the line numbers must be 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on). These line numbers are needed to import the exchange rates, but will be added to any existing exchange rates and sorted by the system using a system format. Line numbers are important to ensure proper line-header consistency. If you don't enter a line number, or enter line numbers out of sequence, the import will fail. Yes

EFFECTIVESTARTDATE

Enter the beginning effective date for this exchange rate. Yes

EXCHANGERATE

Enter the exchange rate to use, beginning with the effective start date in the previous column. Yes
