Use the payment application workflow
Move documents through each stage of the payment application workflow, starting from a purchase order and continuing through application, valuation, and invoicing.
Construction subscription is needed. To enable a Construction subscription, contact your Sage Intacct account manager. Regional support for Construction is limited to Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Step 1. Convert a transaction to an application
The workflow begins with a primary document, which you convert to an application.
You can create multiple applications from the same primary document as long as all converted lines originate from the same document.

Go to Purchasing > All > Transactions and select the applicable transaction type.

In the transactions list, find the primary document to convert and select Convert on that line.
Transaction types that are valid for the conversion display.

Select the transaction type that you use for applications.
The Application page opens.

Review and validate the information shown.

In the Entries section, adjust quantities or prices as needed.

Select Draft to save the application as a draft to finish later.

Select Post if you're ready to apply for payment.
Step 2. Convert an application to a valuation
After an application has been reviewed and approved, create the valuation to record and track certified work. You can create multiple valuations from a single application, provided converted lines originate from the same primary document.

Go to Purchasing > All > Transactions and select the applicable transaction type.

In the transactions list, find the application to convert and select Convert on that line.

Select the transaction type that you use for valuations.
The Valuation page opens.

In the Entries section, adjust quantities or prices as needed.

Select Draft to save the valuation as a draft to finish later.

Select Post if you're ready to convert the valuation to an invoice.
Step 3. Convert a valuation to an invoice
After entering valuation information for certified work, you can convert the valuation to an invoice. If work is partially approved, you can create an invoice for the certified amount or wait until all work is approved.
You can create multiple invoices from a single valuation if converted lines originate from the same primary document.

Go to Purchasing > All > Transactions and select the applicable transaction type.

In the transactions list, find the valuation to convert and select Convert on that line.

Select the transaction type that you use for subcontract invoices.
The invoice page opens.

Review and validate the information shown.

In the Entries section, adjust quantities or prices as needed.

Select Draft to save the invoice as a draft to finish later.

Select Post if you're ready to submit the invoice for payment.
The invoice is posted to Accounts Payable (AP) where it flows through your standard AP processes.
