Construction change request overview
Change requests track how changes impact original costs and pricing throughout a project's life cycle. A change request specifies the change to the project's estimated costs and to the contract price. When the project estimate is integrated with a General Ledger budget, changes can also update the budget.
When you add a change request, select a change request status to control what happens when you post that change request to your primary project estimate.
If you group and bill work by phase (such as electrical or plumbing work), you can attribute posted change requests to a specific project contract line.
Add change requests to project change orders to revise project contract line prices.
