Customize Variance Analysis email notification messages

If you enable email notifications, you can customize the email messages. Copilot will help you draft the messages if you ask.

Enable Variance Analysis

  1. Go to Budgets > Setup > Configuration > Copilot Variance Analysis.
  2. Under Notify channels, select the Email checkbox.

  3. Under any Email template field, select Draft with Copilot.

    The email template page opens, and a draft of the message appears in the Message field.

  4. Optionally, modify the Subject.

  5. Optionally, modify the message.

    You can manually edit the message, and you can ask Copilot to modify it.

    Do not remove the <Insight variable> line from the message. This is required to include the insight details in the email.

    • Select an option in the Adjust tone field and select Generate.

    • Select an option in the Adjust length field and select Generate.

      • As you adjust the tone and length, new drafts of the message are created. Use the arrows in the top-right corner of the Message section to move between drafts.

      Any explicit text entered into the message field is ignored when Copilot regenerates the message.

  6. Make any other changes.
  7. Select Save.
