About the go-live date—Fixed Assets Management

The go-live date marks when your company starts managing depreciation in Fixed Assets Management. It's defined in configuration and determines which assets are historical. Any asset with a scheduled depreciation posting date before the go-live date is considered historical.

How the go-live date affects depreciation schedules

If the Go-live date is October 1st, then consider the following depreciation schedule of an asset:

Depreciation schedule example
Period Scheduled posting date Actual posting date State
1 August 31st -- Historically posted
2 September 30th -- Historically posted
3 October 31st October 31st Posted
4 November 30th -- Not posted
5 December 31st -- Not posted
  • Periods 1 and 2 are Historically posted because they are before the Go-live date of October 1st. Fixed Assets Management does not post these historical periods to the General Ledger.

  • Period 3 is after the Go-live date, so it was posted to the General Ledger in Sage Intacct.

  • Periods 4 and 5 have not been posted to the General Ledger yet, but will be.

Changing the go-live date

You can change the Go-live date if the new date occurs after all periods that are Historically posted and before all periods that are Posted or Canceled. To avoid these restrictions, we recommend finalizing the go-live date before placing any assets in service. Alternatively, you can delete all assets and then change the go-live date.

See the following examples for valid changes to the Go-live date.
