Inventory cycles

You create and use inventory cycles to track when to take physical inventory. For example, you can divide your items or product lines into cycles that consist of calendar quarters, and call them "Q1 Inv Cycle"..."Q4 Inv Cycle".

Example: The inventory cycle for XYZ Company is 12 days for ordering, 35 days for work in progress, and 20 days for finished goods and delivery. Different cycles for different products—some take longer or less time to order.

You assign an inventory cycle to an item per warehouse in the Warehouse section on the Item Information page.

Use the Inventory cycle information page to name the inventory cycle and provide a short description.

  1. Go to Inventory Control > Setup > More and select Add (circle) next to Inventory cycles.

  4. To include this inventory cycle in list pages, from the Status dropdown list, select Active. To hide it from view, select Inactive. To see the inactive inventory cycle later, select the Include inactive checkbox in the list page.
