About Client user type

The Client user type is a limited, non-admin user designed for accounting console instances. Client user permissions are less restrictive than Payment Approver and give transactional access for AP, AR, Order Entry, Cash Management, and Time and Expenses.

This user type is also available for Management consoles that are instances of an Accountant console.

Client users count towards your Business User licenses and may affect your subscription. Check your user counts to avoid unexpected changes.

Assign Client user type

  1. Go to Company > Setup > Users, roles, and groups and select Users.

  2. Find the user that you want to assign the Client user type to.

     

  3. Select Edit at the end of the row.

  4. Select Client for the User type.

  5. Select Save.

Company
  • List and View access

Cash Management
  • List, View, Add, and Edit all Cash Management transactions

  • Run all subledger reports

  • Run, List, View, Export, Confirm, Void ACH and bank files

GL
  • List and View accounts, budgets, and reporting periods

  • Run Financial and GL subledger Reports

AP, AR, and Order Entry
  • List, View, Add, Edit, and Approve all AP, Purchasing, AR, and OE transactions

  • Run all subledger reports

  • Add and Edit Vendors and Customers

Time & Expenses
  • List, View, Add, Edit, and Approve all time and expense transactions

  • Run all subledger reports

  • Run, List, View, Export, Confirm, Void bank files

  • Add and Edit Employees
