Custom fields

Most Customization Services activities rely on data captured in custom fields, data unique to your business practices. If an object does not have the field you need, custom fields offer a way to capture this business-specific data in Intacct. When you add a custom field, you can add it to standard forms, such as Order Entry.

For example, let’s say that you buy lumber from suppliers in several states. You need to track which items use lumber from renewable wood sources. The company controller also needs to show which products use wood from sustainable wood sources in the Item page.

You can add a custom checkbox field to the Item object named Renewable source: tree farm. This new custom field will indicate whether the lumber comes from a renewable source.
