Create, edit, and delete bins—ICRW

Bins enable you to associate multiple dimension attribute values into groups. This ability makes bins similar to groups. For example, within a Product Name column you could group products into categories using bins. For example, you might create bins for Computer, Household, and Automotive products.

About Bins

Bins let you group a set of data from a larger data set to create a limited data set within columns. Bins allow you to group multiple values into smaller groups, providing the ability to create a report-within-a-report, such as including subtotals. You can create multiple bins for each column in the report.

For example, suppose you created a report that contains product names, orders, and sales for the products. You could create a bin that contains only computer products. You could then create a second bin that contains everything else. The resulting report is divided into two groups instead of individual products.

When data is in a bin, the system automatically aggregates the data within the specified groups.
