Troubleshooting report filters

If a report doesn't display as expected, there are steps you can take to troubleshoot the issues. However, you can shorten the time it takes to get the desired results, if you know what to look for.

Understanding report filters

In some cases, data might be filtered in multiple ways. When multiple filters on data overlap, it can cause unexpected results in report output.

Some filters are applied directly to a report. Other filters might be used on objects that are included in reports, such as account groups and dimensions.

Filters on objects are applied before the data gets to the report. Filters included in the report itself are applied after the data is gathered.

Some filters can be used in combination, while it is recommended that others be used only under certain circumstances.
