Troubleshoot exporting reports to Excel

Microsoft's security policies can cause problems for some file types (including XLS) when you attempt to export a report to Excel. For example, you might receive a blank page or be unable to open the output file when you export a report to Excel. You might also see an error that the file is corrupt.

Financial report exports are not affected by the change in Microsoft's security policies.

How to fix the problem

  1. Go to Microsoft and install the latest update to Excel. For more information, see Microsoft Support.
After installing the update, you might receive an error message that the file format and extension do not match. You can ignore this message.
  2. In addition to installing the update, you might also need to perform one of following tasks to fix your particular issue.
