1099 print alignment
Alignment settings can vary depending on your computer and printer. The settings listed in this topic are a starting point. Printers vary, so be sure to test printing on a blank sheet of paper until you find the correct settings for your printer output.
Before you begin
Follow the suggestions below to ensure a smooth printing process.
- print from Adobe reader.
- use a UPD PCL driver installed on your printer.
Make sure that your printer has "UPD PCL 6" in the Printer name.
- set Page scaling to None, Actual size, or Fit to page width.
- set Paper size to Letter.
- if checked, clear the Rotation option.
- set Orientation to Auto portrait/landscape.
Manually align your printer to your tax form
- Go to Accounts Payable > All > 1099s > 1099 form.
- Select the Form to print.
- Print a test form using the default settings in the Printing offsets in inches section.
Each form has different default printing offsets that you can reference below.
- Adjust values as needed.
The offset is measured in inches. Starting with the recommended settings, use the instructions below to adjust where the data is printed.
- To move the text down, enter a larger number in the Vertical Alignment box.
- To move the text up, enter a smaller in the Vertical Alignment box.
- To move the text to the left, enter a smaller number in the Horizontal Alignment box.
- To move the text the right, enter a larger number in the Horizontal Alignment box.
- Print the test form.
Default printing offsets by 1099 form
The following table describes the default printing offsets for each form on the Form 1099 page. These values default in the Vertical alignment and Horizontal alignment fields after you select a 1099 form to print.
