VAT100 reports and dashboard
The VAT100 reports and dashboard let you preview a snapshot of the information for the VAT100 form of your VAT return before you close the books and run a tax submission. This pre-submission visibility is sometimes necessary for paying taxes to or reclaiming taxes from HMRC. Now you can access this information when you install the VAT100 custom reports package in Sage Intacct.
With the report component, you generate custom reports for boxes 1-9, late entries, and tax details by transaction. You can then add these reports as components to a dashboard. The dashboard lets you review a snapshot of the box reports using the standard tax details setup of your UK VAT tax solution.

Add the box reports to a dashboard
See Add a dashboard to set up a VAT100 dashboard.
- After you set up your VAT100 dashboard, go to either:
- Customization Services > All > Custom reports
- Platform Services > All > Custom reports
- Choose a report, copy the report name, and select Run.
To reduce the need for later sorting, start with the last report in the above list of VAT100 dashboard reports (Tax detail expanded by transaction) and add the reports to the dashboard in reverse order. - Do not enter any criteria. Select Add to dashboard.
- Select a dashboard from the dashboard list.
- Paste the copied report name into the name and description.
- Select OK.
Close the memorized reports window.
Repeat these steps for all VAT100 dashboard reports in reverse order, so Late entries - tax detail expanded by transaction, then Box 9, Box 8, and so on, ending with Box 1 - VAT due on sales and other outputs.
Component setup
By default, each component reports on an open date range. Update the To transaction date field to reflect the VAT period end date. After a tax submission, update the To transaction date field to reflect the next period. Leave the From transaction date field open to ensure the capture of late entries.
- Go to Dashboards > All > Dashboards.
- Find your VAT100 dashboard in the list.
-
Select More actions > View components at the end of the row.
- Select the pencil icon in each component to edit the component details.
- Update the To transaction date field to reflect the ending date of the new tax submission period.
Repeat this process for all components except for the component labeled Late entries. - For the Late entries component, update the To transaction date field to reflect the ending date of the previous tax submission period.
- Go to Dashboards > All > Dashboards.
- Find your VAT100 dashboard in the list and select View components.
Each component is filtered by tax detail. If there are legislative changes, for example new tax details or changes to existing tax details, you'll need to update the components to reflect these changes.
Additional details
The reports filter transactions by the posted status. Components do not include any transactions with the following statuses:
-
Ignored: This status refers to transactions before the start date of first tax submission date as defined in tax solution setup.
-
Locked: This status refers to transactions captured by a VAT return in progress.
-
Submitted: This status refers to transactions captured in a completed VAT return.
Because of this filtering, you can only run the VAT100 dashboard before starting a tax return submission. After you've started a return, the dashboard becomes redundant for that period. You can still use the dashboard reports for reconciliation purposes.
