QuickStart templates support Lease Accounting

We added new account categories and related account groups to the QuickStart templates to support compliance with revised Lease Accounting standards (ASC 842 and IFRS16).

The new account categories and groups were created for organizations that use Lease Accounting, but are available to any organization using a QuickStart template.

Details

For any new organization based on a QuickStart template, you can take advantage of the new account categories and groups right away.

For existing organizations, you will need to update existing account groups if you want to add the new categories and groups to your reports.

Before integrating these new items into your reports, be sure that you understand the reporting impact of updating existing account groups. For example, when you add an account group as a member of another account group, the new group is added at the end, but you can move it to a different position. Contact your account manager or implementer for assistance.

Update existing organizations

  1. Install the new account groups (those listed in the table above) from the Account Groups library.
  2. On the Account Groups page, add the new account groups or categories as members of existing account groups, as follows:
