Set up Release to pay

Release to pay is an optional feature that allows you to exclude line items from the payment queue until you authorize them for release. Line items are unreleased by default, and only users with the appropriate permissions can release a line item for payment.

Before you can use Release to pay, you need to enable it and assign permissions.

  1. At the top level, go to Accounts Payable > Setup > Configuration.
  2. In the Enable functionality section, under Release to pay, select the enable option that matches your business process.
    • Enable and show all: Turns on release to pay, but shows all line items as available to pay in Pay AP supplier invoices by default. Provides an optional filter that you can use to exclude unreleased lines.
    • Enable and show only: Turns on release to pay and excludes unreleased line items from Pay AP supplier invoices, preventing them from being paid.
  3. Select Save.
  4. Assign Release to pay permissions to those users who you want to view or manage the list of unreleased line items.
