About AR account labels

Use AR account labels to give your accounts more descriptive names that are displayed anywhere the accounts are referenced in the product and in reports. Some examples of account labels would be "Sales revenue" and "Sales discounts."

You can also use account labels to do the following:

  • Create subtotal lines in AR sales invoices.
  • Indicate when something is a Subtotal tax line.
  • Categorize different products, expense, and services.
Intacct uses a default account label to post the sales tax amount to the appropriate sales tax payable account in the General Ledger. All AR account labels are taxable unless mapped to an Avalara tax code that's non-taxable.

To create an account label, go to Accounts Receivable > Setup, and select the + sign beside Account labels.

Enable account labels

Account labels is an optional feature that must be turned on in Accounts Receivable. In your Accounts Receivable configuration, select the option to Enable account labels.
