Reset a user's password (for admins)
If a user forgets their password, it can be reset by an administrator. The user then receives an email with a temporary password and a link to a page where they can create a new password.
For companies that use 2-step verification, users will be prompted to enter a verification code the next time they log in after a password reset.
- Go to Company > Admin > Users, roles, and groups and select Users.
- Find the user and select Edit.
- Confirm that the email address is up-to-date.
- Select Reset password.
- In the Verify your identity window, enter your admin user Password.
- Select Done and then save your changes to the user's record.
- Go to Company > Admin > Users, roles, and groups and select Users.
- Find the user that you want to edit.
-
Select More actions > Edit at the end of the row.
- Confirm that the email address is up-to-date.
- Select Reset password.
- In the Verify your identity window, enter your admin user Password.
- Select Verify .
-
Select Save.
If you've tried to reset a user's password, but the user hasn't received the password reset email, try one of the following solutions:
- Confirm the user's Email address is up to date. If it's not, update the user's record first.
- Ask the user to check their junk and spam folders for the password reset email.
If none of these solutions work, your designated support user can contact Sage Intacct support.
