Compare cheque payment methods
Choose which cheque payment method to use based on what's most important to you.
- Cost: If you pay relatively few AP supplier invoices by cheque, printing cheques yourself usually costs less.
-
Currency: If all your cheques are in USD, print cheques in any way.
To print cheques in CAD, you can print on preprinted cheque stock or blank cheque stock.
To print cheques in MXN, print cheques on blank cheque stock.
-
Maintenance: If you print on blank cheque stock, you need special ink (MICR), a printer that supports the ink, and confirmation from your bank that you properly aligned your cheques for printing.
For preprinted cheque stock, you need separate cheque stock for each current account.
- Security: If you're concerned about keeping cheque stock in your office, consider Supplier Payments powered by CSI for improved security.
