General Information
Assignment category

Select an Assignment category from the dropdown menu.

You can add a new assignment category or select a pre-defined category.

The assignment category is a user-defined list of categories specific to assignments. While an assignment category is not required for an assignment, it can be helpful to categorize assignments into groups. You can group by activities, the organization responsible for those activities, or other types of information that help you track assignments.

Examples of assignment category names: AP, AR, or GL.

The name can contain up to 200 characters.

Associated checklist

Select an Associated checklist from the dropdown menu.

The associated checklist lists the current assignment and monitors the activity associated with the assignment.

An assignment does not need an associated checklist; however, visibility into assignment status and progress is more difficult to monitor without one.

Status

Select Active or Inactive as the Status.

Assignments set to Active are available and listed in the assignment list and associated checklists.

Assignments set to Inactive are unavailable and not listed in the assignment list or an associated checklist.

Assignment name

Enter an Assignment name.

You can use any combination of letters, numbers, and special characters. Make the assignment name unique and descriptive.

The assignment name can be changed or updated.

The name can contain up to 200 characters.

Description

Enter a Description, as needed.

The description can help you and your colleagues understand the requirements of an assignment.

The description can contain up to 200 characters.

Assignee

Select an Assignee from the dropdown menu. Enter a name in the field to filter the list.

The assignee can be any user in Sage Intacct.

When needed, the assignee can be changed. For example, if a colleague is on vacation but the assignment needs to be completed, you can select a different assignee to complete the assignment.

Assignment status

Select an Assignment status from the dropdown menu.

You can add a new assignment status or select a pre-defined status.

The assignment status is a user-defined list of statuses specific to assignments. While an assignment status is not required for an assignment, the status can help you track the activities related to the assignment.

Examples of assignment status names: Not Started, In Progress, or Blocked.

The name can contain up to 200 characters.

Percent complete

Use the Percent complete field to indicated how completed the assignment is currently.

For example, an assignment requires four pieces of information. If you only have two pieces of information, you can enter 50% complete in this field.

Start date

Set a start date for the assignment. Enter the date manually or use the date selector.

The start date must be before the due date.

Due date

Set a due date for the assignment. Enter the date manually or use the date selector.

The due date must be after the start date.

Actual end date

Select the Actual end date for the assignment. Enter the date manually or use the date selector.

Use this field to indicate when an assignment was actually finished. This can help to track actual work time and determine which assignments might need more or less time than expected.

Attachment

If the assignment requires documents to be submitted, use this field to attach the required documents.

Internal control reference

The Internal control reference is a free-form text field that you can use to capture internal control IDs used by your company.

For example, if your company must comply with different types of regulations like ISO, HIPAA, SOC, or FedRAMP, you can use this field to record the appropriate information.

Comment

Add a comment about the assignment in this field.

Custom fields You can add custom fields to your assignment page. For more information about how to add custom fields, see Define custom fields for business-specific data.
Constraints on this assignment
Constraint type

Select Start on or after or Finish by.

The constraint type determines the type of condition applicable for an assignment.

Date type

Select Start date of or Due date of.

The date type determines which date on the assignment to use with the constraint type.

Assignment name Select an assignment to base the constraint type and date type on.
