Use the affiliate entity dimension for GL journal entries

You can review the automatic tagging of inter-entity transactions (IETs) and tag manually created General Ledger journal entries with the affiliate entity standard dimension.

Review automatically tagged inter-entity journal entries

For auto-generated IET entries, you can verify the affiliate entity dimension for each line. The affiliate entity dimension is derived from your company's inter-entity account mapping. You can override this value as needed.

  1. Go to General Ledger > All > Journal entries.
  2. Select the journal entry to review.
  3. Select View next to the new journal entry.
  4. In the Inter-entity entries table, select Show details and verify the affiliate entity dimension.
  5. Select Post.

Tag a manually created GL journal entry with the affiliate entity dimension

For manually created journal entries, select the Affiliate entity dimension in the Show details dropdown. You can move this field to the entries table by customizing the entries layout.

  1. Go to General Ledger > All > Journal entries.
  2. Add a journal entry.
  3. Enter transaction details.
  4. Select the Source entity.
  5. Select the Location for each line.
  6. Select the Affiliate entity for the relevant lines.
  7. Select Post.
