Field descriptions: Recurring journal entries
The following table describes the fields on the Recurring journal entries page.

Recurring transaction number |
The record ID automatically provided by the system when the record is saved. |

Book |
The book containing the journal you want to record the entry in. Choose Accrual, Compliance, Tax, or a user-defined book. |

Journal |
The journal where the recurring entry will be recorded. |
|
Description |
A note regarding the purpose or use of the entry. |
|
Reference number |
A reference number such as an account or contract number that can be used to sort or filter journal entries. |
|
Attachment |
Any supported documents for the transaction. To save space for these related transactions, the attachment is only stored on the first recurrence recorded. Learn more about who can add attachments. If you're using Firefox, or IE 10 or later, you can simply drag and drop your files to add an attachment. See Add an attachment.

Account |
The account to which the journal entry debit or credit is applied. |

Debit |
The amount of the transaction where you're debiting an account. |
|
Credit |
The amount of the transaction where you're crediting an account. |
|
Allocation |
A template defining automatic distribution of an amount. See General Ledger > Setup > Transaction allocations. |

Department |
The department to which you want to apply the entry. |
|
Location |
The location to which you want to apply the entry. |
|
Memo |
A brief note describing the reason for this entry. You can make manual updates to the memo, but not automated ones. |
|
Total |
The sum of the entry debits and the sum of the entry credits shown for quick balance comparison. |

Journal entry |
The date the scheduled recurring journal entry is to begin creating journal entry transactions. |

Ends |
The time when the journal entry should stop recurring. You can select Never to keep it perpetually going. You can select After a number of occurrences then enter the number of times you want the entry to recur. Or you can set an end date after which the entry will no longer recur. |

Posting repeat by |
The frequency with which the entry recurs. |
|
Every |
The number of times the entry should recur. This field is available if an option other than none is selected in the Posting repeat by field. |
|
End of month |
If selected, the entry is created on the last day of the month instead of the same day as the start date. Intacct always uses the last day of the calendar month as the end-of-month date, even if you use custom periods. |
|
|
The addresses to which a notice will be sent if a scheduled journal entry transaction cannot be created. |
|
Automatically reverse this entry |
Specifies whether the journal entry should be reversed automatically. |
|
Link reversing entry to original journal entry |
Indicates there is a connection that needs to be maintained between the original entry and the reversal. Will also enable you to schedule how soon the reversal will be in context of the original entry number of days, weeks, months, or years after the original entry. |

Create independent reversal schedule |
Lets you set a reversal schedule that isn't tied to the date of the original entry. Selecting this option displays additional options that let you select the reversal start date and end date and how often it should be repeated. |

Reversal |
The date the scheduled recurring reversal entry is to begin creating journal entry transactions. The date must be later than the Journal entry Start Date. This option only appears if the Create independent reversal schedule is enabled. |

Ending on |
The time when the reversal entry should stop recurring. You can select Never to keep it perpetually going. You can select After a number of occurrences then enter the number of times you want the reversal to recur. Or you can set an end date after which the reversal will no longer recur. The number of Reversals cannot exceed the number of Journal Entries. This option only appears if the Create independent reversal schedule is enabled. |
