Enable Chatter on Salesforce custom objects

The Advanced CRM Integration is not required to use Intacct Collaborate. However, if you plan to use the Advanced CRM Integration in Intacct, subscribe to and configure it before you set up Intacct Collaborate.

If you use the Advanced CRM Integration, you need to enable Chatter on the custom objects used to expose Intacct data inside Salesforce.

To set up and administer Intacct Collaborate, you must have the following permissions.

Subscription Intacct Collaborate
User type Business, Admin access
Permissions Company

After Intacct Collaborate is enabled, all user types have automatic access to Intacct Collaborate.

To enable Chatter on custom objects:

  1. Log in to your Salesforce organization as an Admin.
  2. From Setup, enter Chatter in the Quick Find box and select Feed Tracking.
  3. On the Feed Tracking page, for each custom object in your integration:
    1. Select the object.
    2. Select Enable Feed Tracking.
    3. Select up to 20 of the object's fields to track.
    4. Save your changes.
Users that try to post a comment on an object in Intacct that does not have feed tracking enabled will be directed to contact their Salesforce administrator.
