View projects
By default, you can view your company projects in a hierarchy, using icons and indentation to show how related projects are structured. Top level projects can have up to five subprojects, allowing you to organize (and invoice for) projects in the way that you need. You can also view budget information for the project.

Projects: List and View |
To view the Projects list, go to Projects > All > Projects. You can add, edit, or view projects.
-
The Show Hierarchy option at the top of the page lets you toggle between flat and hierarchical views. In a hierarchical view, you can still use sort to find projects.
-
When you access the list from the top level, you initially only see records created at the top level. To see records created within entities, select Filters and then select Include entity records. Select Apply to update the filter.
In a top-level company, you initially see only items that were created at the top level. To see items created within entities, select the Include private checkbox.
-
To view your inactive projects, you can either select Include inactive at top of the Projects list, or you can create a custom view that only contains inactive topics.
View project budget information
Project budget information appears on your Project summary tab when you:
-
Create a budget that includes the project (Budgets > All > Budgets > Budgets repository).
-
Configure Projects (Projects > Setup > Configuration) to show the budget:
-
In the Project Summary, Financial summary budget and comparison section, select the Show budget column and Show budget difference column so those columns appear on the Project summary tab.
-
Set a default Budget ID and account group for the budget and accounts
-
-
When you view the project (Projects > All > Projects), budget fields appear on the Project summary tab with the General Ledger (GL) budget. If more than one active GL budget exists, you can change the defaults per project.
The most common reason that you do not see this feature is that you're using a custom view.
When you select a custom view, some options are hidden. Depending on the page you're on, the Include inactive, Include one-time use, Include private, and Display hierarchy options are not visible. For example, if you're viewing from a custom view, the Financial Reports list will not provide the Include inactive option.
To see the options again, switch back to View All. See Custom views for more information.
