Report group tips and tricks
- To filter ICRW reports that are part of a report group by date, location, or department, you need to add a prompt to the ICRW report that corresponds to the report group filter. For example, if you want to filter a report group by location, add a location prompt to the ICRW reports that are in the report group.
- If you have numerous entities, the location box can save you significant setup time. Create 1 generic report group without a location; when you run this generic report, specify the location you want. This saves you time you would otherwise spend setting up and maintaining multiple report groups per month per entity or location, or editing each report location prior to the group's scheduled run.
- To learn about the different ways you can save reports, see to Store reports.
- You run a report group monthly, but need to wait until all of your numbers are in. When you run a report group on demand you can include the latest numbers using "as of" a prior date to effectively backdate the report group while including the latest data.
- You don't know exactly when to expect the numbers you need for 1 or more of your reports.
- You're in the middle of a period and want to run a report group to review progress.
Running a report group on demand provides the report in the time it takes for it to run. Reports run on a schedule generally run in the evening and aren't available until the following business morning.
