Preview and run a custom report—ICRW

Frequent Interactive Custom Report Writer (ICRW) report users, typically run reports from the Reports center or application menus. For example, a report designed for Projects can be run by going to either the Projects menu or the Reports center.

A report can display a maximum of 500,000 rows in a single report.

Preview a report

To preview an ICRW report after you open it, go to the Refine tab. A preview of the report appears in real time. You can change the view and include a view of the report as a pivot table.

  1. From the Refine tab, open Views and
  2. Select Pivot table. A pivot table representation of the report appears below the table view.
  3. Optionally, define the pivot table options. Changes to a pivot table are not reflected in the table view.

Run a custom report

You can add an ICRW report to an application, such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or Projects. If you assign the report to an application menu, the report is available from both the application menu and from the Reports center.

You can also set permissions and add runtime prompts to your report.

Application menu

  1. In the Reports > All > Reports section of the application navigation menu, select Interactive Custom Reports.
  2. Find and select the ICRW report.
  3. Select report options as needed and then view, print, or export the report.
    • Select View to view the report in HTML.
    • Select Print to view the report as a printable PDF file.
    • Export the report in another format, such as Excel, by choosing the format from the dropdown menu and selecting Go.

Reports center

  1. Go to the Reports center by selecting Reports > All > Reports Center > Custom reports.
  2. Select the name of the report that you want to run, then after the report opens, select View. Reports created with ICRW show interactive after the report name.
  3. Include any prompted information.
