Resource Schedule Analysis by Project report

The Resource Schedule Analysis by Project report enables Project managers to measure resource schedule budgets by project and is used in conjunction with the Resource Schedule module.

Use the Resource Schedule Analysis by Project to see:

  • How each project member is performing against the project resource budget
  • Who has been scheduled to a project or task
  • When an employee has been scheduled, their actual start date, and timesheet data

To access the Resource schedule analysis by project report, go to Projects > All > ReportsProjects > Resource schedule analysis by project.

Prerequisites

  • Subscription to Projects with resource scheduling turned on. To learn more, go to Resource scheduling overview.
  • Install the report from Customization Services or Platform Services.
  • Permissions for:
    • Task Resources in Projects
    • Resource Scheduling in Projects
    • Drill down to all transactions from reports in General Ledger

Install the report

Install the Resource Schedule Analysis by Project report either from Customization Services or Platform Services, depending on which you subscribe to. After it's installed, your report will appear under Project Reports in the Projects dropdown menu.

Either:

  • From the main menu, go to Customization Services > Overview, then select the icon for Customization Packages. On the Customization Packages page, select Packages Library. Locate your report and select Install.

Or:

  • From the main menu, go to Platform Services > Packages and select Package Library. Locate your report and select Install.
You may need to refresh your browser window for your new report to appear in Project Reports.

Run the report

You can select the types of items to include as well as specify how you want the report to appear.

  1. Choose the Filters that you want to include in your report.
    • Filters enable you to include or exclude specific types of data in the report, such as customer, revenue account or deferred revenue account.
    • For example, you could filter by Customer ID to see all the projects for a particular customer, and how many hours that customer has been billed for.
  2. Optionally, Format your report. Generally, you can set the layout of the report and the grouping and display of the report contents.
  3. Type a title, subtitle, and footer text for your report.
  4. View, process, memorize, or export the report.

Report filters

Use filters to focus the results of your report. In effect, filters enable you to isolate and assemble just the data you want. You can set any combination of filters.

Filter box Notes

Project ID

Choose the project for which you want to filter the report.

Project Manager ID

Choose the project manager for whom you want to filter the report.

Project Type

Choose from the following Project types:

  • Consulting
  • Development
  • Internal
  • Template
  • Training

From Scheduled Begin Date/

To Scheduled Begin Date

Filter to see projects which have scheduled begin dates within a certain window of time.

For example, say you want to see all projects which were started this year. You would enter 1/1/2015 in From Scheduled Begin Date, and 12/31/2015 in To Scheduled Begin Date.

The format must be: MM/DD/YYYY

Prompt on run

Select this checkbox to require you (or anyone using this report) to enter an entity or location and department before the report will run.

Titles and footer

Titles, subtitles, and footers apply only to the print versions of this report. Export to Excel or CSV, or select Print for a PDF version.

What's in this report?

The default Resource Schedule Analysis by Project report consists of the following columns:

  • Subtotal name (Represents the Project ID, and includes all relevant data associated with this project.)
  • Project ID
  • Project Name
  • Task Name
  • Employee Name
  • Scheduled Begin Date
  • Scheduled End Date
  • Actual Begin Date
  • Estimated Hours
  • Approved Timesheet Hours
  • Total Timesheet Hours
  • Remaining Hours
