Create and edit a report audience
Creating a report audience allows you to show only the relevant reports for users with certain roles or permissions. Creating an actual audience in essence is creating a filter tag that lets others find reports more easily. This capability is useful for companies that have large numbers of reports.
About report audiences
Setting up a report audience allows you to designate who a specific user type for the report. For example, you might have Report audiences for Directors, Internal-only, and Board Members.
While including a Report audience is optional, using a report audience can alleviate cumbersome report names and naming conventions. This task is accomplished with filtering by audience and not needing to include the audience in the report name. The Report audience appears on the list of reports.
For example, you might define an audience for Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), another for data analysts, and others for the Board of Directors and Department Managers. You’re not creating a group of audience members, you’re creating a filter tag.
