Tag a transaction as 1099 eligible or ineligible after the fact

Learn how to include or exclude transactions for 1099 treatment after they've already been entered into Intacct.

If you update the vendor or employee record and change the default form and box, you have the option to also update associated 1099 transactions for the current year or both the current and prior year. This process only updates transactions already tagged for 1099 treatment and does not update non-1099 transactions.

Transaction-by-transaction

For unpaid transactions. Locate the transaction and select the 1099 checkbox for each line item.

With a CSV import

Use the Supplier 1099 transaction update template to:

  • update all transactions for a supplier, including those not currently flagged for 1099 treatment, with a specified default form type and box.
  • update transactions already tagged for 1099 treatment to a different form type and box.
  • update the 1099 name for a supplier.

Use the Employee 1099 transaction update template for employees.

Reclassification

Reclassify transactions which have already been paid or partially paid. Learn how to reclassify transactions for 1099 treatment or learn how to troubleshoot reclassification.

After you make your changes, be sure to run the 1099 report to confirm that the transaction is included or not included, depending on the changed status.
