New Variance analysis report
If your company was created using any of the QuickStart templates, you can install one of the new Variance analysis reports to analyze your budget performance by department or location.
These reports are useful for CFOs, controllers, department managers, or anyone monitoring your organization's budget.
Details
There are three versions of the report:

Variance analysis

Variance analysis by department

Variance analysis by location
If you install the version that reports by department or location, edit the report in the Financial Report Writer after you've installed it. On the Filters tab, add either a department group or a location group, depending on which report you installed. For details, see To add a department or location group.
How it works
Step 1. Install the report

Go to General Ledger > All > Financial reporting > Financial reports.

Select QuickStart library.

Find the version of the Variance analysis report that you need, and select Install.

Optionally, change the Report name to the report name that you want to appear in your company.

Select Save.

Select Done to return to the reports library.
Step 2. Add a department or location group

If you installed the Variance analysis by department report, add a department group that includes the departments that you want to include in the report.

If you installed the Variance analysis by location report, add a location group that includes the locations that you want to include in the report.

In the Financial reports list, find the report that you installed, and select Edit.

Go to the Filters tab.

In the Define dimension filters section, do one of the following, depending on whether you're working with departments or locations:

In the Department field, select Specific department or department group. Next, select the department or group in the next field.

In the Location field, select Specific location or location group. Next, select the location or group in the next field.

Select Save & done.
