About report types

Sage Intacct offers the following selection of report types:

After you create a report, you cannot change the report type.

You can create reports online or process and store them offline. You can even save reports (referred to as "memorized" reports) to run over and over again.

Application reports

Application reports, also refereed to as standard reports, are reports that are typical to an application and already created for you. You can run them as is or make slight modifications to them, such as setting filters to specify which items to include and from what time period, or selecting from formatting options.

Application reports have predefined settings and defaults, such as the current month or day. You can set your report options to include only the data you want to see. For a complete list of standard reports available with Intacct, go to the summary of standard reports for each application.

Before you can export a standard report or add it to a group, memorize the report.

The following table shows some examples of each type of standard report. Follow the links for more on each of the application reports.

Report filters

You can configure reports specific to your needs by setting filters. Depending on the report, you can select from 10-30 filter options. For more information, see Work with filters.

Some reports are available in more than 1 application, but typically have specific variations in filters and format for each application.

Financial reports

Financial reports are those you run from the General Ledger. You can create financial reports using the Financial Report Writer. If your company was created with a setup template (called a QuickStart), you can access many standard financial reports. Select QuickStart library, which appears on the Financial Reports list.

To use these reports, map your chart of accounts to Intacct categories and all 18 standard financial reports and graphs become live with your data. Reports available from the Financials Library are referred to as "QuickStart Financials." The QuickStart Financials feature speeds the otherwise-time-consuming process of manually creating account groups that contain the appropriate GL accounts, and then creating financial reports and graphs using those account groups.

Each application includes a set of reports that you can run to produce common reports quickly and easily. You can create, run, view, export, and memorize the following types of reports:

  • Application (standard "out of the box") reports: available from the Reports section of each application menu and the Reports center.
  • Financial reports: available with Financial Report Writer, along with financial graphs.

Custom Report Writer reports

In addition to standard and financial reports, you can build custom reports by adding your specific records and fields, and calculations. The Report Wizard is an intuitive tool that makes it easy to create your own custom reports.

Custom reports require a subscription to Customization Services or Platform Services, along with the related permissions. Custom Report Writer is standard with Sage Intacct, and different from Interactive Custom Report Writer, which requires a special subscription.

Interactive Custom Report Writer reports

Interactive Custom Report Writer (ICRW) enables you to build powerful reports across a wide range of reporting areas. Consumers of ICRW reports can access interactive detail analysis of report data in real-time.

Interactive Custom Report Writer (ICRW) is available by subscription. After you subscribe to the application, you can access ICRW reports from the Reports center or the Reports menu.

ICRW reports deliver robust capabilities for viewer data analysis that allow transactional data to be easily explored and interpreted. You can filter and pivot the information to explore details further and still maintain the overall picture. You can export the reports to PDF or Excel and distribute the insights to your data beyond Sage Intacct.

Interactive Visual Explorer visual boards

Interactive Visual Explorer (IVE) enables you to create visualizations and projects that provide insights into data trends for your company. These insights can answer strategic questions that allow you to more effectively plan and develop your business.

Use the Interactive Visual Explorer to explore data and create visualizations of the story you want your data to tell. You can experiment with your data by adding or removing columns, creating filters, or applying different visualizations to your data. The Interactive Visual Explorer helps you to understand your data from different perspectives and fully explore your data to find correlations, discover patterns, and see trends.

You can capture important trends in your data by creating stories that you can revisit and share.

To use the Interactive Visual Explorer, you must first subscribe to the application.
