Company messages

This list supports the enhanced lists interface. Learn more about using enhanced lists.

You use company messages to share short announcements or reminders with users in your company. You might remind your employees to submit their weekly timesheets by Friday or announce your next company holiday.

To access this page, go to Company > Admin > More > Company messages.

Where do company messages appear?

Company messages appear in the Company messages list and on the Message Board. The Message Board is located on the home page on the top-right under the application menu bar. You can also add the Message Board to any dashboard.

The Message Board displays only five messages at a time, sorted by Priority then Date. Each posted message displays the date the message was posted followed by the subject of the message. Under the subject line, the first 100 characters of your message will appear, followed by the name of the user who posted the message.

To view the entirety of a message, you must View the message from the Company messages list ( Company > Admin > More > Company messages).

Add a company message

  1. Go to Company > Admin > More, then select Add (circle) next to Company messages.
  2. Type the Subject of the message. It will appear next to the date on the Message Board.
  3. For Valid until, select the Calendar icon and select the date on which the message will expire. It will expire at midnight on the date you specify.
Even though a message has expired, it remains in the system until deleted. You should periodically delete unnecessary expired messages from the system, even if they are set to inactive.
  4. In View level, select which user types can see the message. Only those with the selected user type will be able to view the message.

    Messages viewable by user types
User type Messages they can view
Employee, Product Manager, Platform, Payment Approver All users
Business All users and Business users
Business with some or all Admin privileges All users, Business users, and Administrators
  5. Set the Priority level to Urgent, High, or Normal. The message list and Message Board are sorted by Priority, then by Last updated. Keep in mind, the Message Board displays five messages at a time, sorted by Priority.
  6. Enter your Message text. Although there is a max of 4000 characters, we recommend keeping your messages short, limiting your character count to 100 characters or less for the most effective company messages.
  7. In Status, and select Active from the dropdown to use this message or Inactive to hide it from view.
When an item is set to Inactive, the system retains the data but hides the inactive item on lists, pick lists, and so on. If you want to permanently remove an item, you must delete it.
