Reopen a reconciliation
Reopen a reconciliation to edit or change transactions that have already been reconciled.
You might need to reopen a reconciliation if you entered an incorrect ending date or ending balance, or if a payment was made but never recorded. Or, you might find that a payment that was sent to a vendor was never received and you need to void it.
To reopen a reconciliation, you need Reconcile bank or Reconcile credit card permissions for both Reopen and Report.
You cannot undo reopening a reconciliation.
You need to re-reconcile for the reopened period and any later periods.
Example: You're in August and reopen the reconciliation from June. Re-reconcile for June and July.
Before you start
Download the Reconciliation report so you have a history of what was originally matched and reconciled. Make sure to note the statement ending balances.
If you're reconciling with the classic file import experience have the original CSV import file. You'll need to re-import the file. If you do not have the original file, download the Reconciliation report as a CSV or Excel file and manipulate the data to create a new import file.
