Maximum number of custom fields
Generally, you can add up to 25 custom fields to each object. However, some objects and object combinations allow up to 100 custom fields total. Use the table below to see how many custom fields you can add. Note that:
- A custom field created on 1 Order Entry transaction and applied to 3 document type or transaction definitions counts as 1 custom field.
- A custom field, even if identical to another one, counts against the limits. So, if you create the same custom field 3 times for each document type or transaction definition, the fields count as 3 custom fields.

* Example: If you add 100 custom fields on AP Bill, you cannot add any custom fields on the other objects included in its combination. For instance, you cannot add custom fields to AP Adjustment and AP Payables Payment. Alternatively, you might want to create 30 custom fields on AP Bill, 60 on AP Adjustment, and 10 on AP Payables Payment. Or, you might decide to use any other combination totaling 100.
