Export data from Intacct

You might want to export data out of Intacct for a variety of reasons. There are several ways to accomplish this task. However, the method you choose for exporting data depends primarily on its intended use.

About exporting data

The manner in which you export data depends on the following:

  • Amount of data
  • Type of data
  • Intended use

Data aggregation and data mining usually require a large quantity of data. Certain reports and calculations might only need a small subset of data, however.

Export a huge amount data

Data Delivery Service (DDS) allows you to export large amounts of data with ease. You can combine the exported data with data from other systems, then use your favorite tools to mine the data for your business.

DDS exports object records to .csv files. The .csv files are then posted to a configured cloud storage service. You select the objects that contain the necessary data. Then you use DDS to export the records from each object to a .csv file. You can choose to extract all the records for each selected object, or only the records that have changed after the last export.

To access Data Delivery Service, go to Company > Setup > Data Delivery Service.

Export specific data such as reports

To export granular data, such as getting a list of only London customers or only invoices from January through December, you export the data from reports. You can create and run reports, then export the data to a local file.

Some reports let you filter for specific data for finer granularity. When you export a filtered reports, the data shown is limited to the records you specified with the filter.

For example, a manager wants a list of all active channel customers for the California office. To get this information, create and run a Customer List report using the appropriate filters (Customer type = channel and Location = California).

After running the report

  1. Select the output type from the dropdown list beside the Print button at the top of the page.
  2. Select Go to save the report information to one of the supported formats such as Word, .csv, text, Excel file, or graph.

Export an existing financial report

  1. Open the report and select the output type from the dropdown list.
  2. Select Export to save the report information to one of the supported formats, then download the file.
