A project is a framework for tracking and managing the financials for a type or area of business. Sage Intacct provides a selection of Projects applications, each with a unique level of project management and project accounting capabilities.

Your ability to access these Projects applications depends on your user privileges and Projects subscriptions.

Subscribe to Projects

Depending on your company's accounting needs, you might subscribe to any of the Sage Intacct project management applications.

  • To request a subscription to a Projects application, contact your Sage Intacct administrator.
  • For Sage Intacct Business users with admin privileges, see Configure Projects.

What's available in Projects

Sage Intacct offers the following suite of Projects application modules and dimensions:

  • Basic Project Tracking: Tracks projects for reporting purposes.
  • Project Costing: Tracks the entirety of project costs. This application is bundled with Task Tracking, allowing you to manage task transactions for reporting purposes.
  • Project Costing and Billing: Tracks project costs and generate invoices. This application is bundled with Resource Management, allowing you to track tasks, manage resources, and forecast and usage reporting.

Types of projects

The Construction industry uses specific terminology that can differ from Sage Intacct terminology. Understand how Sage Intacct terms align with Construction industry terms.

You can then change Sage Intacct terminology to match Construction industry terms. For example, you can change Project to Job.

Nonprofit projects

Sage Intacct provides specialized tools for nonprofit (not-for-profit NFP) organizations. Nonprofit organizations often have different needs and configurations than other Sage Intacct companies.
