About forecast reports

Forecast reports let you present information in different ways and time frames to forecast future budgets. This helps to make them as accurate as possible. Even though they rely on historical information, forecasts look to the future. Accurate forecasts are critical to ensuring that companies have the budgets they need for defined periods throughout the planning cycle.

Why create a forecast report

Forecast reports are a great tool when planning the future of your organization. While no forecast is perfect, you can use existing actuals data and company-or industry-trends to analyze and forecast major expenses and commitments.

Forecast reports use computations to provide not just forecasts, but a broader “what if” set of data.

Who uses forecast reports

Forecast reports are useful to managers, directors, purchase approvers, CFOs, and anyone involved with managing spending and creating budgets.

Where to find forecast reports

There aren’t any predefined forecasting reports. After you’ve created them, you can find these forecasting reports in the Reports center or in the list of financial reports. If your forecast report was created with the Custom Report Writer, you’ll find it under Custom reports.

  • In Reports > All > Reports center. On the main page, use the View dropdown list to view Financialreports.
  • From Reports > All > Core > Financial reports.
Financial reports, financial graphs, custom reports, interactive custom reports, and interactive visual boards can all include budget data.
