Customize Salesforce
The Intacct Advanced CRM Integration package contains many different customizations that you can use in Salesforce.
The following customization sections concentrate on the most typical settings for the sales workflow and are only suggestions. Your company and sales workflow can require a different set of customization in Salesforce.
Page layouts
As part of the managed package, Intacct provides Salesforce page layouts. These page layouts include all required elements for the integration, which can be used in both the Lightning and Classic interfaces.
The page layouts include custom buttons, custom fields, custom actions, related lists, and other items. Intacct provides page layouts for many different Salesforce pages, including (but not limited to):
- Accounts
- Contacts
- Contracts
- Opportunities
- Opportunity Products
- Price Books
Depending on your integration, you can use the provided page layouts as they are or as a foundation for customizing your current or future layouts. Review the page layouts included in the package to ensure you include the required elements for the Advanced CRM Integration.
You can also copy or clone the Intacct page layouts (templates include 'Intacct template' in the name). Cloned copies can then be modified without changing the original.
Fields
The fields on page layouts must include all fields required by both Intacct and Salesforce for that type of record. For example:
- Account Name is a required field on the Salesforce Account record. It maps to the Name field in Intacct.
- Print As is a required field on the Intacct Customer record. It maps to the Name field in Salesforce.
The required fields for both systems must be on the Salesforce Account page layout.
Buttons, links, and actions
There are several custom buttons, links, and actions included in the managed package. These custom objects are included in the template page layouts and are used to start or create record syncs. The custom objects are not required; however, Intacct often recommends they be included on page layouts. If they are not included on a page layout, you would need to automate the record sync or creation using other methods.
Based on your integration, you can use the provided layouts directly or as a starting point for customizing your own. Add the items that you need to your page layout.
Related lists
Where applicable, the Intacct custom objects included in the package can be added as related lists to the page layout, though they are not required.
If you're not using the provided template layouts, be sure to add relevant related lists to your layout after reviewing them.
