Intacct Bulk update tool
Transitioning from the original CRM Integration offered by Intacct to the Sage Intacct Advanced CRM Integration can be daunting, especially when it comes to transferring your data. We created the Bulk update tool to help streamline this process.

The Bulk update tool is here to simplify the process of moving data. The tool automates the process of transferring field values from your original implementation to the Advanced CRM Integration, making the transition smoother.
The Bulk update tool is available on the Intacct Mass Synchronization page in Salesforce. It allows you to:
-
Filter specific object records based on your criteria.
-
Map field values from fields within the same record or even related records.
-
Update your filtered records with the mapped values.
The Bulk update tool helps you save time by quickly updating large numbers of records at once. It also eliminates the need for manual data entry, which helps streamline your transition to the Advanced CRM Integration.
Use the Bulk update tool
-
Log in to Salesforce as an administrator and go to the Intacct Mass Synchronization tab.
-
Select the Bulk Update tab.
-
Use Select an object to choose the Salesforce object you want to work with (such as Account, Opportunity, or Product).
The source object can be the current record, a related object, or a custom value.
-
Use the Filters section to specify which records you want to update.
For example, you could update all Accounts with an Active status.
When adding more than one filter, select the operator for the logic between filters: AND or OR.
-
In the Mappings section, map which fields you want to copy data from and where you want to put that data. You can copy data from the same record or from related records.
Formula fields cannot be used as Destination fields. -
After you have configured your filters and mappings, select Process filtered records.
You will receive an email with the results of the update.
Best practices
These are the best practices for using the Bulk update tool:
-
Take your time building filters and mappings. Double-check everything before you start the process.
-
Be careful with field names. If you have custom fields with the same name as standard fields, the tool could not work correctly. You can usually fix this by renaming the custom field or creating a formula field. For example, you could create a new formula field that retrieves the value from the custom field and use that formula field in the mapping.
-
Start small. Before making large-scale changes, try the tool on a small set of data to ensure it works as expected.
-
The tool will not work for objects that share the same name as objects included in the package.
-
For the Intacct Entity field (API name: ia_crm__intacct_entity__c), create a new formula field to retrieve the entity name from the original CRM Integration field and use that formula field in the mapping.
