About consoles
A console is a Sage Intacct interface used by accountants, partners, and certain multi-entity companies to set up, modify, or access instances. Each client or entity is an instance of Intacct. Console users slide from the console to access an instance. In each instance, console users are identified as external users that perform accounting and implementation tasks.
Intacct offers three types of consoles:
-
Accountant
-
Management
-
Partner
Overview
Sage Intacct offers several consoles that serve different purposes based on your needs.
-
Management consoles are used by instances that manage subsidiary entities which have different financial needs.
-
Accountant and Partner consoles are used by members of the Sage Intacct Partner Programs to implement and manage their instances, which comprise the companies within the consoles.

Accountant console
Accountant consoles are used by Sage Intacct Accounting Partners (SIAP) to implement and manage the financials of their customer's Intacct instances. Individual companies own their instances that link to an Accountant console. The SIAP, who implements the companies, also manages the companies that link to an Accountant console.
Use cases:
- Implement and manage instances' financial books.
- Implement and manage once-a-month financials.
- Implement and do an instances' taxes.
Management console
Management consoles are used by Intacct instances who own or manage subsidiary entities that have different financial needs. Also called a distributed console, individual instances own and manage both the console and companies.

Partner console
Partner consoles are used by Value Added Reseller (VAR) partners who are primarily implementers of Sage Intacct. These partners implement new instances of Intacct and manage support cases for these instances. The instances manage their own financials in their individual companies.
Consoles and instances
The relationship between a console and its instance companies is bilateral. Access is enabled automatically if the partner creates the instance. If access is disabled, contact Intacct Customer Service so that they can allow access.
Another part of the relationship between a console and its instance companies is linking from the console to the instance. This link is automatic if the partner creates the instance. If this link is not automatic, contact Intacct Customer Service so that they can establish the link and disassociate your firm from the company.
After you establish the bilateral relationship between instances and consoles, external users can use the console to slide in to the company without logging into the instance.
Console users
Console users are individuals who use the console to perform tasks. Learn about console users.
