About console users
A console is a Sage Intacct interface used by accountants, partners, and certain multi-entity companies to set up, modify, or access instances. From the console, console users can slide in to an instance of Intacct to perform implementation and accounting tasks.
In the console, a console user can do the following:
-
Create users.
-
Create console templates.
-
Create instances.
-
Assign users to instances.
-
Access and slide in to instances.
For more information, go to About consoles.
Console user types
Console users can complete activities that they have the relevant user type and permissions for. An admin can create the following user types in a console:
-
Business
-
Employee
-
Project manager
-
Platform
A user with full admin privileges can only create and edit other users with full admin privileges. Learn about Intacct user types.
Console user permissions
An admin assigns permissions to roles or to console users so that they can complete activities in the console. For more information, go to Assign roles to console users or Assign permissions to a console user.
Console users access instances
Console users access and slide in to linked instances to perform implementation and accounting tasks for companies. If the console creates and links to instances, console users can access those instances. Console users can be assigned access to instances so that they can slide in to each instance from the console. Learn about assigning users to an instance.
Console users identified as external users
When a console user slides in to an instance, the console user is identified as an external user. An admin assigns permissions to roles or to external users so that they can perform tasks in a company. Go to About external users for more information.
