Change your password

For increased security, your company could require you to change your password regularly and to enter strong, secure passwords. Use the Change password page, available in My preferences, to change your password.

  1. Select your login name at the top of any page and select My preferences.
  2. Scroll down to the Security preferences section of this page, and select Change password.

    The Change password window appears.

Don't see the Change password button? If you access the company from a console, you can only change your password at the console level.
  3. Enter the password that you’re currently using.
  4. Enter a new password.
    • Your new password must be at least 8 characters and contain at least 1 number, 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, and 1 special character (such as !, R, or %).
  5. Confirm your new password by entering it again.
  6. Save your changes.
  • If you forgot your password, notify your Intacct administrator. The administrator can reset your password. When the administrator resets your password, you’ll receive an email with a temporary password and a link to where you can create a new password.
  • For 2-step verification users, you’ll be prompted to enter a verification code during the password reset process and the next time you log in.

Set how often passwords must be changed

Administrators select how often users' passwords must be reset. Passwords have to be reset yearly at a minimum to ensure your company's security. However, your administrator can choose how often passwords must be reset in your company's configuration settings based on your company's security policy.
